Pick the network, type your username: one scan and they are on your profile.

How it works

  1. Pick what the code holds: a link, Wi-Fi, a contact, a payment…
  2. Make it yours: colours, gradient, shapes, eyes, your logo and a frame with a call to action.
  3. Download a PNG, a vector SVG or a print-ready PDF, or print a sheet of labels.

Everything is free, with no sign-up and no watermark on your codes. Codes are static: what you type is in the code itself, so it works forever, without us. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Tips for codes that scan

  • Dark code on a light background, with strong contrast.
  • Keep the quiet zone: a clear margin of about 4 modules round the code.
  • Print it at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, bigger for scanning from further away (about a tenth of the distance).
  • With a logo, use high error correction and keep the logo under about a fifth of the width.
  • Test with a couple of phones before printing a thousand.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Every feature, every format, any number of codes, no sign-up and no watermark on the code. The site is paid for by a small ad.

Do the codes expire?

No. These are static codes: the link or text is inside the code itself, so it works as long as the thing it points to exists. Nobody can switch it off.

Can I use them commercially?

Yes, for anything: packaging, menus, posters, business cards. No attribution needed.

What’s the difference between PNG, SVG and PDF?

PNG is a picture, good for screens and documents; choose plenty of pixels for print. SVG and PDF are vector: sharp at any size, what printers and designers want.

Why did my code get denser when I added a logo?

A logo covers part of the code, so error correction is raised to H to make up for it. That adds modules. Keep the text short to keep the code simple.

Does it track scans?

No. A static code goes straight to your link; nothing passes through us, so there is nothing to count. That’s also why it can’t break.

Is my data safe?

The codes are made in your browser. What you type, your Wi-Fi password and your logo never leave your device.

What size should I print it?

At least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 in) for reading close up. As a rule, the code should be about a tenth of the scanning distance: 30 cm wide to scan from 3 metres.
